Town of 1770

It’s an odd name for a town, but then Australia has a lot of unusual-sounding place names (see: Wagga Wagga, Bong Bong, or Humpybong). It’s sometimes listed officially as “Seventeen Seventy.” Locals often write it as “1770″, which gives a better hint as to the history behind the strange name.

Blue Moon Timelapse Video

A Blue Moon comes around once every few years, but it falls on New Years Eve only every quarter century or so. New Years Eve 2009 was one of those rare occurrences. Since I knew I would have a great view of the moon over the water all evening while celebrating, I figured it would be a good chance to try my first real experiment with night-time timelapse photos.
