The GoPro HERO7 Black was released in September 2018. It’s the flagship model in the HERO7 lineup, alongside the HERO7 Silver (mid-range) and HERO7 White (entry-level). It shoots 12MP photos and up to 4K60 video. The camera body is waterproof without the need for an external housing. And it was the first model to incorporate GoPro’s HyperSmooth internal video stabilization (and related TimeWarp time-lapse feature). In September 2019, it was replaced by the HERO8 Black.
With a recent firmware update, GoPro killed compatibility with third-party batteries. Wasabi Power are out with a new version of their battery that fixes that and promises to be compatible with all future GoPro firmware updates.
