Here's a quick way to find out how many times a URL has been shared or commented on Facebook.

This isn't the way you'd do it if you were writing an app--for that, you'd use the API--but if you just need a quick and dirty way to find the share count and comment count for a specific URL, it works.

Just add the URL you're researching to the end of this:

https://graph.facebook.com/?id=YOUR-URL

Just replace the YOUR-URL part with whatever URL you want.

So if you wanted to find out how many Facebook shares and comments the URL https://facebook.com has gotten, you'd use:

https://graph.facebook.com/?id=https://facebook.com

The results will look something like this:

{
   "share": {
      "comment_count": 1520,
      "share_count": 1247814914
   },
   "og_object": {
      "id": "10151063484068358",
      "description": "Create an account or log into Facebook. Connect with friends, family and other people you know. Share photos and videos, send messages and get updates.",
      "title": "Facebook",
      "type": "website",
      "updated_time": "2018-05-10T00:23:21+0000"
   },
   "id": "https://facebook.com"
}

What you're looking for are the share_count and comment_count lines.

(Facebook.com has been shared quite a few times, it turns out.)
