Here are some practical examples taken at each end of the zoom range of the new Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm ƒ/4. It’s a very versatile zoom range, going from wide angle at the 24mm end to a medium telephoto of 105mm. I’ve included some practical examples that give a sense of how that translates in visual terms.
It’s designed for Panasonic’s new Lumix full-frame mirrorless cameras with the new L-mount. I’ve been using it on the Lumix S1; that’s the camera used for all the shots below. It can also be used on APS-C sensor cameras, in which case the effective focal length becomes 36mm to 158mm in 35mm/full-frame equivalent terms.
The maximum aperture of ƒ/4 applies throughout the zoom range. It has an aperture range from ƒ/4 to ƒ/22.
It’s a macro lens, has built-in optical image stabilization, and is ruggedized for protection against the water and dust and knocks.
I’ve posted separately a much larger collection of sample images shot with this lens.
