About half an hour north of Copenhagen, Helsingør is famous for Kronborg Castle, the setting for Shakespeare's play Hamlet. It is also home to the Maritime Museum of Denmark.
The town is also sometimes known in English as Elsinore.

Known as Hamlet’s Castle because Shakespeare’s play was set there, Kronborg Castle is a 16th-century castle on a strategic peninsula or the Sound, just north of Copenhagen.
