There are times when you might want to clear the browsing cache from your Safari browser on your Mac without clearing your browsing history. This might be useful for checking the results of CSS updates on your site, for example.

It’s simple to do but not self-evident.

  • From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences
  • Select the Advanced tab
  • Select Show Develop menu in menu bar
  • Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches
