This is one of the more popular lenses to put on cameras like the Sony a6000 or the new a6400. It’s one of the options as the kit lens, with significantly more reach than the 16-50mm lens that’s often chosen by default. Or you can pick them up separately.
While it’s physically larger than the 16-50mm, it’s still relatively compact and packable. It has maximum apertures of ƒ/3.5 to ƒ/5.6. It’s an E-mount lens designed for Sony’s APS-C sensor cameras like the a6400 or a6500. If you convert the focal ranges to 35mm equivalent (i.e., to what they would be on a full-frame sensor camera), it comes out to 27mm to 202.5mm, which spans from medium wide-angle through a decent telephoto zoom.
Overall, the extra zoom range makes the 18-135mm a very versatile choice as an everyday lens for your travels. I’ll be posting some photos taken with it separately, but what I wanted to do here is focus on its zoom range. Hopefully, these examples will be useful to anyone wondering what the zoom range looks like in practical terms. These were all shot on an a6400 body.
