The Sony a1 (or Alpha 1, or α1, or ILCE-1) is Sony’s latest flagship mirrorless camera. And what a camera it is! 50MP sensor, 30fps stills shooting, 8K30 video, and a bucketload of other features. The image quality is superb, it’s very fast, and the handling is excellent. I’ve found it to be a real joy to shoot with, and I can’t wait until circumstances allow me to be able to take it out on the road and push it even more.
- 50.1MP* full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor w/ integral memory
- 8x more powerful*, next generation BIONZ XR image processing engine
I’ve been shooting mainly stills with it, and I’ve included below some example shots. This is a general selection. I also have more sample images focusing on high-ISO photos as well as the individual lenses I’ve used on this camera body: Sony FE 20mm ƒ/1.8 G, Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS, Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS.
You can download the original uncompressed RAW file using the link under each image. But just a heads up that they are around 105MB each.
